Hachis Parmentier

$39.00

If we oversimplify we can say that the Hachis Parmentier is the French version of the British Cottage Pie. But, like in all good French recipe, there are a few twists that make the dish so unique:

  • Mash is a little smoother with the addition of butter
  • Cheese is added on top of the creamy mash for a gratin effect that is just out of this world.
  • Meat is coarser and flavoured with herbs making it richer.

Last but not least, our Hachis recipe is derived from Chef Sebastien own mother who used to be a restaurateur in the French South-West region. She used to make the Hachis Parmentier at the end of the week with all the leftovers from the restaurant with Beef, Pork, Carrots, Onion, and Herbs for that extra bit of character.

Product delivered frozen. 1200g, serves 4.

Yum! Yum! My partner & I had this for tea tonight on its own and we both thoroughly enjoyed it. We had just had a terrible storm a couple of days prior and our nearest town was without power which meant bugger all fresh food and definitely no meat or dairy in the supermarket. As luck would have it I was able to grab this meal out of the freezer and defrost. It was full of flavour and the melted cheese topping added that little bit of crisp…..so delicious. In fact I put salt & pepper on the table and I need not have bothered.

This is so much nicer than cottage pie. It’s already a family favourite.
