Kouign Amann with Caramelised Apples and Salted Caramel

$16.00

The Kouign-Amann is the quintessence of "gourmandise" and a specialty of Brittany, Mathieu's (one of Delidoor's founders) region in France.

The Kouign-Amann is a multi-layered cake, made with bread dough, containing layers of butter and incorporated sugar, similar in fashion to puff pastry, albeit with fewer layers. The cake is slowly baked until the sugar caramelizes and mixes with the melted butter.

To make even more moreish We topped ours with a caramelised apples and a salted caramel coulis. 2 portions.

The Kouign-Amann is one of my favorite pastries--and this is one of the best! Rich and luscious without being too seet. Perfect treat for a relaxed Sunday morning with coffee.

Scrumptious!

This would have to be the best dessert item I've eaten. I savoured every mouthful and then ate the few crumbs left.
