Frequently asked questions
All our meals can be claimed for NDIS rebates, to approved NDIS recipients.
In average a meal will cost you $4.5 after the cost of food preparation and delivery is taken out.
1 - If you are NDIS self managed, you will pay upfront for the full price shown on the website. For your first order, you will need to contact us to request a split invoice. On the following orders, you will receive automatically a split invoice so you can claim the 70% portion from your plan manager.
Along with you order confirmation, you will receive a NDIS invoice to claim the preparation and delivery cost portion. This is usually 70% of the total cost of the order, meaning that after being reimbursed by your NDIS provider, you will have just paid 30% of the total fees.
2 - If you are NDIS Plan managed, you will need to register your account with us so you can only pay the cost of preparation and delivery. This account will then require approval from your support coordinator and plan manager before you can start ordering and only paying the upfront co-payment of 30%.
To be eligible for home delivered meals through the NDIS, your plan will usually need to include funding for Daily Activities under Core Supports, or a specific support item for meal preparation and delivery, being 01_023_0120_1_1.
From 1 March 2022, the NDIA no longer requires a quote for this support item. This gives participants more flexibility to use their Core funding for prepared meal services, including as an alternative to having a support worker assist with shopping and meal preparation.
This item does not need to be a stated support and can be used where it has been considered a reasonable and necessary support within the participant’s plan and there is enough Core funding available.
The older item, 01_022_0120_1_1, may still apply in some cases where it is specifically included in the participant’s plan and remains subject to quote requirements.
If you are unsure, check with your plan manager or your NDIS support coordinator as we will need confirmation of your eligibility before we can onboard you.
