The Moussaka is your traditional eggplant casserole made with baked eggplants, potatoes, a rich tomato lamb mince sauce and topped with a delicious made-from-scratch creamy béchamel sauce. In short, your ideal comfort food like we love cooking at Délidoor. Product delivered frozen. 800g, serves 2.

Preparation, cooking and serving instructions

Frozen product. Once defrosted, heat, and consume within 48 hours.

Please note these cooking instructions are merely a guide as different ovens may vary the cooking times. Feel free to heat a little longer if you feel necessary. Our cooking durations may be a little less than needed as we want to avoid any dishes being overcooked or burnt.

From thawed, preheat the oven to 180C, place the moussaka in your preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes until the top is golden brown.

If you want to test that the inside has warmed through, insert a temperature probe into the middle to see if it has reached 75C. If the middle is not warm enough, place it back in the oven for another 5 minutes or until bubbling over. Once you are happy that it is heated through, remove from the oven.  

Great served with a side of Salad.

Love it very authentic Greek cuisine

Absolutely delicious!

This dish was absolutely full of umami flavour. We enjoyed it from the first bite to the last and it’s on our next order as well. It’s that good.

I didn't mean to eat the whole thing

I was away camping in the cold Riverina all weekend and came home to my empty fridge - very tired and totally unable to muster the energy to cook...then I remembered I had my Delidoor stuff in the freezer and put the moussaka in the oven. I had my first bowl, then seconds then thirds then nibbled and nibbled fourths and was very nice and nobody can say otherwise because I didn't leave any for them.
