Description

Introducing our Traditional Moussaka. It's a culinary masterpiece that takes you on a flavourful journey, one bite at a time. Picture this: succulent layers of baked eggplant and potato, harmoniously interlaced with a rich, tomato-infused lamb mince sauce. But that's not all. To crown this regal dish, we've lovingly blanketed it with a creamy béchamel sauce, made from scratch, of course.

Each ingredient is handpicked with care, from the tender lamb to the ripe eggplant and the robust red wine. And let's not forget the aromatic oregano and bay leaf, which lend their distinct touch to this ensemble. A sprinkling of parmesan cheese adds a savoury note, while the fresh parsley adds a dash of colour and freshness.

With Delidoor's Traditional Moussaka, you're not just enjoying a meal; you're indulging in an experience - one that brings the comfort of home-style cooking and the sophistication of chef expertise right to your table. Best of all? It's snap-frozen for your convenience, ensuring every bite tastes as fresh as the moment it was crafted. Bon appétit!

How to cook & serve

Frozen product. The dish must be defrosted before reheating.

To defrost, place in the fridge for 24 hours.

Once defrosted, reheat and consume within 2–3 days.

Oven:

From Thawed, preheat the oven to 180C, place the moussaka in your preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes until the top is golden brown. If you want to test that the inside has warmed through, insert a temperature probe into the middle to see if it has reached 75C. If the middle is not warm enough, place it back in the oven for another 5 minutes or until bubbling over. Once you are happy that it is heated through, remove from the oven. Please note these cooking instructions are merely a guide as different ovens may vary the cooking times. Feel free to heat a little longer if you feel necessary. Our cooking durations may be a little less than needed as we want to avoid any dishes being overcooked or burnt.

Serving suggestion:

Great served with a side of Salad.

Very Moorish Moussaka

The Moussaka was so delicious! I make my own (so time consuming), so thought I would give this a try and WOW we were not disappointed. Very tasty, hubby loved it and said it was a keeper, next time I will cook it a little longer for the potato to be a bit softer.
Overall, fabulous.

Frequently asked questions

Are the meals frozen?

Absolutely. We snap‑freeze within minutes of cooking so nutrients, texture and flavour stay locked in—no preservatives needed. This is the guarantee of delicious and nutritious meals.

How long will they last in my freezer?

Up to 5-6  months after delivery. Each label shows an Expiry Date; most families finish their favourites long before that!

Oven temperatures: Fan-forced vs. Conventional

All our oven reheating instructions are for fan‑forced ovens that’s the setting most Aussie households use.

  • Using a conventional (top‑and‑bottom) oven? Simply add 10 °C or allow an extra 5–10 minutes to reach the same result.

  • Unsure which oven you have? If your oven symbol shows a little fan, it’s fan‑forced. No fan means conventional.
Whichever mode you choose, always heat until the food is piping hot (above 75 °C) before serving.

How do I prepare the meals at home?

How do I prepare them?
Each product label describes the best method for the dish—choose oven, air‑fryer or saucepan for best results.

  • Oven / Air‑fryer (bakes, pies, lasagnes, quiches, pastries) – 30‑35 min at 180‑200 °C until piping hot and golden if reheated from thawed.

  • Saucepan (curries, stews, soups, sauces) – defrost pack, then warm gently 8‑10 min over medium heat, stirring occasionally.

  • Microwave only for single‑serve meals when you’re truly short on time; 6‑8 min on medium‑high from frozen or 2-3min from thawed. We don’t recommend it for most dishes because rapid heating can dry the food and dull its flavour.

How long will the meals last in the fridge?

We deliver everything frozen for maximum freshness, so keep meals in the freezer until the day before you want them. Once thawed in the fridge (below 5 °C), you can keep them up to 2 / 3 days maximum.

Never refreeze a meal that's been thawed and always check the Expiry Date on the label for dish-specific guidance.

Do you cater for special diets?
Yes. On the main menu page, you'll find filters for gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian, vegan, and low-calorie meals. Please be aware that due to our single kitchen environment, trace amounts of allergens may be present.
I have allergies - can I trust the labels?

Yes. Full ingredient and allergen lists are printed on pack and online. Email us if you need extra detail.

Is your meat halal?

All our chicken, beef and lamb are sourced from halal‑certified suppliers. Meals themselves are not certified, as our kitchen is not a halal certified.

What about sodium, sugar or macros?

Nutrition panels for every dish are on each product page and dish label. We stick to home‑style seasoning—no hidden MSG, no artificial sweeteners, no preservatives or other nasties.

Why frozen over "fresh chilled"

Freezing offers a preservative-free method of conservation and, when performed correctly, is also a gentle process for the product, so you can enjoy conveniently delicious, nutritious and preservatives free meals.
