How to cook & serve

Raw Frozen product. The dish must be baked from frozen

Oven method:

Brush with egg wash.

Put the pasty onto a lined baking tray and place it on middle shelf of oven and bake for 25 min on 190°C then 13 min on 170°C until pastry is golden and cooked through.

Your pasty should be a golden colour and juice emerging from the hole on top. As per tradition, the Cornish pasty is rolled with raw ingredients, so ensure the veggies are not too firm and the meat is cooked. Should you notice the crust browning too quickly, simply cover it with baking paper and continue baking at a slightly lower temperature until done.

Take your pasty out of the oven and let it cool for 10-15 minutes before digging in.

The filling will be piping hot, so exercise a little patience for that perfect bite!

Guiness tradition

As traditional as they get. This heats up well and is very tasty.

Delicious

Delightful, the filling taste is so beautiful when I found it mainly more pastry then filling.

The filling was fine however I thought the pastry was too dense and a little bland. I expected French pastry to be much more buttery and lighter.

So sorry friends, but this and the other pasty that we got were simply no good at all. Absolute fan-girl for every single other thing we've ever gotten from DD, so I'm not sure what happened with these pasties but they tasted horrendous in our opinion. Literally took one bite of each and couldn't continue to eat them as they tasted like they were off.
Maybe reconsider this recipe?
Still love you though! Just won't get this again :)

Frequently asked questions

Are the meals frozen?

Absolutely. We snap‑freeze within minutes of cooking so nutrients, texture and flavour stay locked in—no preservatives needed. This is the guarantee of delicious and nutritious meals.

How long will they last in my freezer?

Up to 5-6  months after delivery. Each label shows an Expiry Date; most families finish their favourites long before that!

Oven temperatures: Fan-forced vs. Conventional

All our oven reheating instructions are for fan‑forced ovens that’s the setting most Aussie households use.

  • Using a conventional (top‑and‑bottom) oven? Simply add 10 °C or allow an extra 5–10 minutes to reach the same result.

  • Unsure which oven you have? If your oven symbol shows a little fan, it’s fan‑forced. No fan means conventional.
Whichever mode you choose, always heat until the food is piping hot (above 75 °C) before serving.

How do I prepare the meals at home?

How do I prepare them?
Each product label describes the best method for the dish—choose oven, air‑fryer or saucepan for best results.

  • Oven / Air‑fryer (bakes, pies, lasagnes, quiches, pastries) – 30‑35 min at 180‑200 °C until piping hot and golden if reheated from thawed.

  • Saucepan (curries, stews, soups, sauces) – defrost pack, then warm gently 8‑10 min over medium heat, stirring occasionally.

  • Microwave only for single‑serve meals when you’re truly short on time; 6‑8 min on medium‑high from frozen or 2-3min from thawed. We don’t recommend it for most dishes because rapid heating can dry the food and dull its flavour.

How long will the meals last in the fridge?

We deliver everything frozen for maximum freshness, so keep meals in the freezer until the day before you want them. Once thawed in the fridge (below 5 °C), you can keep them up to 2 / 3 days maximum.

Never refreeze a meal that's been thawed and always check the Expiry Date on the label for dish-specific guidance.

Do you cater for special diets?
Yes. On the main menu page, you'll find filters for gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian, vegan, and low-calorie meals. Please be aware that due to our single kitchen environment, trace amounts of allergens may be present.
I have allergies - can I trust the labels?

Yes. Full ingredient and allergen lists are printed on pack and online. Email us if you need extra detail.

Is your meat halal?

All our chicken, beef and lamb are sourced from halal‑certified suppliers. Meals themselves are not certified, as our kitchen is not a halal certified.

What about sodium, sugar or macros?

Nutrition panels for every dish are on each product page and dish label. We stick to home‑style seasoning—no hidden MSG, no artificial sweeteners, no preservatives or other nasties.

Why frozen over "fresh chilled"

Freezing offers a preservative-free method of conservation and, when performed correctly, is also a gentle process for the product, so you can enjoy conveniently delicious, nutritious and preservatives free meals.
