Description

Introducing Traditional Beer Carbonade, a Flemish classic that's been given the Delidoor touch. This isn't your average beef stew, oh no. This is a hearty, flavourful dish, slow-cooked to perfection, just like the Belgians intended.

Each bite is a testament to our dedication to quality and care. We start with tender chunks of beef, seared to lock in their natural juices. Then, we add a dash of tomato puree for that tangy undertone, and crispy bacon for a hint of smokiness.

The medley of carrots and onions isn't just tossed in - they're sautéed in olive oil with a smidgen of garlic, releasing their sweet and aromatic flavours. The stew is then simmered in a rich, hearty beef stock, and here's where the magic happens - we pour in a generous helping of lager. This isn't just any lager; it's the secret ingredient that gives this dish its distinct, robust flavour.

Finally, we season it with a blend of mixed herbs, fresh thyme, and a sprinkle of ground cloves and nutmeg. And for those who like a bit of heat, we've added a subtle kick with our special mix of spices and chillies.

But the pièce de résistance? This delightful dish is cooked from scratch and snap-frozen to lock in all the goodness and flavour. So, when you're too busy to cook but still crave something comforting and delicious, our Traditional Beer Carbonade is ready to save the day. Just heat it up, serve with some crusty bread or fluffy mashed potatoes, and voila! A gourmet meal in minutes. Bon appétit!

How to cook & serve

Frozen product. The dish must be defrosted before reheating.

To defrost, place in the fridge for 24 hours.

Once defrosted, reheat and consume within 2–3 days.

Saucepan:

From Frozen: Carefully place the bag into some boiling water from the kettle to thaw the outside so the stew can release from the bag. Gently pour into a saucepan, and heat slowly over low heat for approximately 15 mins or until it is warmed through and gently simmering.

From Thawed: Gently pour the contents into a saucepan and warm slowly over medium heat until gently bubbling and warmed through.

Frequently asked questions

Are the meals frozen?

Absolutely. We snap‑freeze within minutes of cooking so nutrients, texture and flavour stay locked in—no preservatives needed. This is the guarantee of delicious and nutritious meals.

How long will they last in my freezer?

Up to 5-6  months after delivery. Each label shows an Expiry Date; most families finish their favourites long before that!

Oven temperatures: Fan-forced vs. Conventional

All our oven reheating instructions are for fan‑forced ovens that’s the setting most Aussie households use.

  • Using a conventional (top‑and‑bottom) oven? Simply add 10 °C or allow an extra 5–10 minutes to reach the same result.

  • Unsure which oven you have? If your oven symbol shows a little fan, it’s fan‑forced. No fan means conventional.
Whichever mode you choose, always heat until the food is piping hot (above 75 °C) before serving.

How do I prepare the meals at home?

How do I prepare them?
Each product label describes the best method for the dish—choose oven, air‑fryer or saucepan for best results.

  • Oven / Air‑fryer (bakes, pies, lasagnes, quiches, pastries) – 30‑35 min at 180‑200 °C until piping hot and golden if reheated from thawed.

  • Saucepan (curries, stews, soups, sauces) – defrost pack, then warm gently 8‑10 min over medium heat, stirring occasionally.

  • Microwave only for single‑serve meals when you’re truly short on time; 6‑8 min on medium‑high from frozen or 2-3min from thawed. We don’t recommend it for most dishes because rapid heating can dry the food and dull its flavour.

How long will the meals last in the fridge?

We deliver everything frozen for maximum freshness, so keep meals in the freezer until the day before you want them. Once thawed in the fridge (below 5 °C), you can keep them up to 2 / 3 days maximum.

Never refreeze a meal that's been thawed and always check the Expiry Date on the label for dish-specific guidance.

Do you cater for special diets?
Yes. On the main menu page, you'll find filters for gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian, vegan, and low-calorie meals. Please be aware that due to our single kitchen environment, trace amounts of allergens may be present.
I have allergies - can I trust the labels?

Yes. Full ingredient and allergen lists are printed on pack and online. Email us if you need extra detail.

Is your meat halal?

All our chicken, beef and lamb are sourced from halal‑certified suppliers. Meals themselves are not certified, as our kitchen is not a halal certified.

What about sodium, sugar or macros?

Nutrition panels for every dish are on each product page and dish label. We stick to home‑style seasoning—no hidden MSG, no artificial sweeteners, no preservatives or other nasties.

Why frozen over "fresh chilled"

Freezing offers a preservative-free method of conservation and, when performed correctly, is also a gentle process for the product, so you can enjoy conveniently delicious, nutritious and preservatives free meals.
