Traditional Beer Carbonade (Flemish Beef Stew)

$30.00

The Carbonade, or Flemish stew is a speciality of the North of France on the Belgium border. It is a beef stew made with beer, thyme, cloves and a touch of mustard. Perfectly accompanied with fried French Fries.

Preparation, cooking and serving instructions

Frozen product. Once defrosted, cook, and consume within 48 hours.

From frozen, carefully place the bag into some boiling water from the kettle to thaw the outside so the stew can release from the bag. Gently pour into a saucepan, and heat slowly over low heat for approximately 15 mins or until it is warmed through and gently simmering.

From thawed, gently pour the contents into a saucepan and warm slowly over medium heat until gently bubbling and warmed through.

Wow. The best beef stew I've had the flavours were amazing and so deep and complex there was layer upon layer of flavour. Highly recommended.

Delicious

This Flemish stew is fabulous. Rich and tasty and went really well with mashed potatoes and green vegetables. We will definitely be getting this again. Yet again, three adult serves.
