This lentil shepherd's pie is a fabulous meal for everyone (not just the vegetarians). Product delivered frozen. Serves 2.
Preparation, cooking and serving instructions
Frozen product. To defrost, put in the fridge for 24 hours. Once defrosted, reheat, and consume within 48 hours.
Please note these cooking instructions are merely a guide as different ovens may vary the cooking times. Feel free to cook a little longer if you feel necessary. Our cooking durations may be a little less than needed as we want to avoid any dishes being overcooked or burnt.
From frozen, preheat the oven to 150C, place the pie in your preheated oven for 35 minutes, then turn the oven to 180C and bake for a further 20 minutes until the top is golden brown and the sauce is starting to bubble over.
From defrosted, preheat the oven to 180C, place the pie in your oven for 40 minutes until the top is golden brown.
If you want to test that the inside has warmed through, insert a temperature probe into the middle and check it has reached 75C. If the middle is not warm enough, place it back in the oven for another 5 minutes or until bubbling over. Once you are happy that it is cooked, remove from the oven.
Great served with a side of green salad.
