Why choose Délidoor for meal delivery in Newcastle?

Takeaway is quick but rarely good for you. Meal kits are fresh but still need an hour in the kitchen. Our chef-made frozen meals give you the best of both: real, home-style food that's ready in about 10 minutes, with no additives and no waste.

Behind every Délidoor meal is a simple idea from our founders, two French fathers living in Australia: dinner from the freezer should taste like dinner from home. Executive Chef Sébastien Houillon and his team cook every recipe from scratch in small batches, the slow way. Each one is snap-frozen and sent to Newcastle by temperature-controlled courier.

The result: home-cooked meals delivered to your door, with all the savoir-faire of a proper kitchen.

Home-delivered meals for every Newcastle household

Families with fussy eaters, couples in a cottage in Cooks Hill, new parents who need nourishing meals in those first weeks with a newborn, or an elderly parent you want to know is eating well: there's something on the menu for everyone. Eligible Support at Home and NDIS participants can order too.

You'll find vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free options throughout the menu, plus meals for one and family-size dishes.

A huge range of cuisines to try

Comfort food, done properly: a leek and Dijon chicken pie, a generous beef lasagne or a chicken, leek and Dijon casserole with steamed vegetables. Lighter options and plenty of vegetarian dishes sit alongside them.

Too busy to choose? Our set meal boxes are a curated selection delivered straight to your door.

Are your meals cooked in Newcastle?

Our meals are cooked from scratch in small batches in our own kitchen in Sydney, then snap-frozen and sent up to Newcastle and the Hunter by temperature-controlled courier.

Can my meals be left on the doorstep?

Yes. Our boxes are insulated with wool liners designed to keep your meals frozen for hours, so you don't need to be home.

For houses, overnight delivery is ideal: your meals are waiting when you wake up. For apartments, we recommend a daytime delivery.

Is Délidoor a meal kit?

No. Every meal arrives fully cooked and frozen. There's no prep and no recipe to follow: just heat in the oven or microwave and serve, usually in about 10 minutes.

Can I order meals for an elderly parent?

Yes, and many of our customers do. Délidoor meals are fully cooked and only need heating, which makes them a reliable way to make sure an older parent always has a proper meal in the freezer. You can have them delivered to their address and pay online.

If they receive a Support at Home package or NDIS funding, they may only need to pay part of the cost: see our Support at Home meals and NDIS meals pages.

Do you have meals for new parents?

Yes. A freezer full of ready meals is one of the most useful things new parents can have in the first weeks with a newborn: nourishing dinners, ready in about 10 minutes, with no shopping or cooking. Order for yourself, or send a box to friends who have just had a baby.

Do I need to cook the meals that I have ordered?

For most of them, you won't need to cook them but just to reheat them in your oven or sauce pan. If you purchased some marinated meat or fish, you will need to cook them as they are delivered frozen but raw.

Simply follow the instructions on the labels in order to prepare the meals the most efficient way to enjoy the best meal with your family and friends.

With our home meal delivery service, you will spend less time in the kitchen and more with the family.

Are all my meals delivered frozen

The simple answer is yes because we care about what we use as ingredient. By delivering your meals frozen, we lock in the healthy goodness of the fresh ingredients we use, we don't need to add any nasty preservatives to extend their shelf life.

How long will my meals last in the freezer?

On average, our meals last for around five months in the freezer. All our meals come with a specific expiry date indicated on the label, so check that before you cook!

Do you cater to my dietary requirements?

We make meals for everyone because we understand every family and households are made from people with different taste and dietary requirements. Our vegetarian, vegan, dairy-free, and gluten-free meals are nutritious and protein-rich.

And for added assurance, our chicken and beef are halal, so you can be confident in our meal delivery service.

Where do you get your ingredients?

Our ingredients are all sourced fresh, locally. We're very strict about only using fresh, healthy ingredients sourced from environmentally conscious producers.

What can I do with your packaging?

You will need to dispose it since we cannot collect it back. While we work on a sustainable take‑back solution, please:

  • Cardboard outer: flatten and pop it in your curbside recycling.
  • Wool liner: tear it up for your home compost, tuck it under a garden bed as mulch, or reuse it as natural pet bedding or cool‑box insulation.

Thanks for giving our eco‑packaging a second life!

Do I have to commit to anything?

No. There is no contract, no subscription and no minimum order. Order weekly, monthly or only now and then, and choose any mix of mains, soups, desserts and snacks each time.
